PURPOSE:To obtain a qualitative simulation device which uses the quantitative data in order to eliminate the ambiguousness of the qualitative simulation in terms of the cause and effect as long as the quantitative data are obtained and to secure a qualitative behavior coincident with an actual behavior. CONSTITUTION:This device is provided with a quantitative data conversion mechanism 3 produces the plural divided qualitative data by defining the quantitative data showing the actual behavior of a physical system as an input and using a defined feature point to the quantitative data, a notional time production mechanism 4 is added to generate the discrete time based on the qualitative data together with a qualitative data storage part 5 which stores the qualitative data updated by means of both mechanisms 3 and 4, a qualitative model storage part 1 which includes the relation description data showing the causal relation between the state description variable data showing the qualitative state of the physical system as well as these state description variable data, and an inference mechanism 2 which infers the possible value of the next state of the state description variable data with use of the relation description data adaptive to the state description variable data and then decides the value that satisfies the limitation of the qualitative data corresponding to the discrete time out of the possible value. |
