A syphoning device is disclosed which is characterized by means for inhibiting the entrance of air into the syphon even after the flow of liquid through the syphon has stopped. Once the syphon has been initially primed with liquid, it remains primed so that the flow of liquid may restart automatically when the level of liquid on the inlet side of the syphon rises.
