PURPOSE:To obtain a beverage useful as a medicinal beverage, a soft drink, etc., containing ginseng saponin, a prune extract and soluble saccharides and preferably further cyclodextrin and hardly forming precipitates even in preservation for a long period. CONSTITUTION:A beverage is prepared by blending >=0.01wt./vol.% ginseng saponin (e.g. an extract of cultured Panax ginseng C.A. Meyer) with 5-40wt./ vol.% prune extract (with 70% sugar content) and >=1wt./vol.% soluble saccharides (e.g. fructose or glucose liquid) and preferably further 0.01-1wt./vol.% cyclodextrin (e.g. gamma-cyclodextrin), adding water thereto, thoroughly stirring the blend and subsequently carrying out hot bag treatment. Furthermore, ingredients such as various vitamins, minerals, dietary fiber, citric acid, malic acid and saccharides normally added to the beverage can be blended with the aforementioned beverage. |
