A thermoplastic graft copolymer composed of a polymer with a glass transition point of 10 DEG C or below as a principal chain and an aromatic oligomer with a flow temperature of 100 DEG C or above as a side chain; and a process for the production thereof, particularly, comprising grafting an aromatic oligomer which contains at least 50 % of the structure units of formula (I) onto the principal chain, wherein X represents O or S; Ar represents (a), (b) or (c); R<1> and R<2> represent each C1 to C3 alkyl or phenyl; and p and q are each 0, 1 or 2. This copolymer is used in heat-resistant hoses, sealants and automotive materials as a heat-resistant plastic elastomer.
