NEW MATERIAL:A compound expressed by formula I (R1 is 1-5C alkyl or substituted or unsubstituted phenyl; R2 is H, 1-5C alkyl, substituted or unsubstituted phenyl, substituted or unsubstituted benzyl or formyl; n is 3,4 or 5) or a pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salt thereof. EXAMPLE:2-(4-Benzylpiperazino)-4-ethoxy-5,6-trimethylenepyrimidine. USE:A hypoglycemic agent, a platelet aggregation inhibitor and a serotonin agent. PROCESS:A compound of formula II (X is halogen) is reacted with an alcohol or a substituted or unsubstituted phenol in the presence of a base, or a compound of formula III is reacted with a piperazine derivative to give the compound of formula I. Alternatively, the protecting group of a compound of formula IV (Y is protecting group of the benzyl or formyl) is removed.
