<p>PURPOSE: To provide a male thread that can be connected to various female threads by connecting a taper thread section having the number of threads in the range between the nominal values of the cylindrical thread section and of an NPT(German Pipe Thread) with the same size. CONSTITUTION: A male thread section 3 to be screwed in a female thread it being a taper-shaped NPT is formed both by a taper thread section 2 having a front end 13, and by a cylindrical thread section 1 continued by a transition part 18, so that the diameters of both the thread parts are made to be the same. The cylindrical thread section 1 is formed by a BSP thread (British Standard Pipe thread), and is selected to the number of threads per inch selected to be equal to the normal value conventional for the normal size of thread, On the other hand, the number of threads per inch of the taper thread section 2 is set to a range between the nominal value of the cylindrical thread section 1 and that of the NPT thread having the same nominal thread size.
