<p>A dock seal header (10) to be secured over a doorway (2) in a loading dock (1) includes a sheet or panel (11) of flexible material having an upper edge which is secured to the dock above the doorway. The header extends down partially to close the upper end of the doorway. A plurality of horizontal slabs or bars (15) of a compressible material, such as foam plastic, are mounted in vertically spaced relation to the sheet or panel. A cable and pulley system (18-21) is attached to the lower edge of the sheet or panel so that it can be pulled up to a generally curved configuration and can then drape against the top of a truck (28) parked in front of the loading dock. The side edges (25) of the header sheet or panel are connected to the header seal by releasable fasteners (27), such as a hook and loop arrangement. As the sheet or panel is pulled upwardly, the fasteners release and as the sheet or panel lowers, the fasteners automatically re-engage. <IMAGE></p> |
