PURPOSE:To obtain a pre-processing device for an object recognizing device which can pick up a density Value sudden change area even concerning an object facing the direction where the density value sudden change area cannot be picked up only by differentiating a density value distribution obtained by a two dimension image pick-up device along the coordinate axis. CONSTITUTION:The density value obtained by the two dimension image pick-up device is stored in addordance with the coordinate value of a transforming coordinate system which is obtained by rotating the coordinate system of the image pick-up device. The data is differentiated and processed along the transforming coordinate axis. Thus, the density value sudden change area which cannot be picked-up since it becomes only a small differential value by a differential processing along the fixed coordinate axis becomes the large differential value so as to be pickedup.
