PURPOSE:To provide a power factor controller in which a power capacitor is protected against overheat or burning due to higher harmonic current produced through distortion of voltage waveform in power system. CONSTITUTION:The power factor controller comprises means 13 for detecting/ deciding higher harmonic components in a power system 20 and when thus detected higher harmonic exceeds a predetermined limit, an output circuit 9 opens its contacts a1, a2-an entirely to interrupt all power capacitors. |
