PURPOSE:To effectively make use of straight parts on both sides in an ultrasonic linear motor which uses the straight parts of an elliptic vibrator for making progressive vibration waves for generating drive force, and rectilinearly drives the object. CONSTITUTION:An endless belt member 2 is set around between pulleys 3 so as to enable endless rotation, while an vibrator 3 is arranged between these pulleys 3, and both straight parts 1A and 1B of the oscillator 1 are brought into contact with the belt member 2, and further the belt member 2 is pressure- welded to both straight parts of the vibrator 1 with the rollers 5 of a housing 6. When the vibrator is driven to form progressive vibration waves, the progressive waves are made reversely to each other in both straight parts 1A and 1B of the vibrator 1, so the belt member 2 is driven by both straight parts 1A and 1B. |
