PURPOSE:To carry out filling a porous substrate with a paste evenly and heighten the filling efficiency by making the paste fluidal and filling the porous substrate with paste by fluid pressure. CONSTITUTION:A paste having a prescribed viscosity is prepared by mixing nickel hydroxide, additives, and a viscosity improver each other and a three- dimensional sintered fiber substrate 2 is immersed in a paste bath. Blades 3 are then rotated and the paste 6 is fluidized vertically and the substrate is filled with the paste and further the paste 6 is applied to the substrate surface by blades 4 and excessive paste is scraped off by scraping blades 5. Like this, the substrate is filled with the paste by the paste fluid pressure at the time the porous substrate and the paste are brought into contact with each other, so that no damage on the porous substrate is caused and stable and high filling efficiency is achieved. |
