<p>A process for the separation of ethyl tert-butyl ether from mixtures which it forms with ethanol is described. <??>This process comprises two distillation stages, the first being carried out at a pressure p1 greater than or equal to 1 bar, the second at a pressure p2 less than p1 with a value DELTA p of 0.5 to 12 bars, p2 then being from 0.5 to 10 bars. The distillate of the second column is partly sent back as reflux into the head of the second column and partly recycled towards the head of the first column. Purified ETBE is collected at the bottom of the first column and purified ethanol at the bottom of the second column. <??>This separation process can be integrated in a production unit for ETBE comprising the etherification with ethanol of a steam cracking or catalytic cracking C4 cut. The separated ethanol is then recycled towards the etherification region. <IMAGE> </p> |
