The invention concerns a lifting yoke 1 for lifting a bundle of elements which are arranged loosely in relation to each other and whose tops are essentially level with each other. The lifting yoke 1 has a carrier frame 2 and a vacuum unit 8 which is connected to the carrier frame 2 via a piston and cylinder assembly 9 for lowering the vacuum unit 8 into suction engagement with the tops of the elements for the purpose of lifting the bundle. The lifting yoke 1 is characterized by directional devices 11 which are connected to the carrier frame 2 and which, before lowering of the vacuum unit 8, extend under the latter, and which are arranged to be made to bear against the tops of the elements for directing the vacuum unit 8 essentially parallel with the bundle before lowering of the vacuum unit 8. The lifting yoke is furthermore characterized by at least one pair of centring devices 12 arranged opposite each other and movably connected to the carrier frame 2. These centring devices 12 are arranged to be brought into engagement, before lowering of the vacuum unit 8, with side surfaces of the outermost elements which form the periphery of the bundle for centring the vacuum unit 8 and at the same time for pushing the elements together. <IMAGE> |
