PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of misdetection by finally judging the detection of an intruding substance only when the intruding substance does not contact with the outer frame of a detection area at the time of detecting the intruding substance in the set detection area. CONSTITUTION:A detection area is set up by displaying an image in a monitoring area on a display device 5 and allowing a light-pen 4 to touch a certain point on the screen of the device 5. A detection area setting part 12 calculates the coordinates of the detection area and stores the calculated information in a memory 8. An intruding substance detecting part 13 processes an image signal obtained from an ITV camera 1 and executes intruding substance detection processing based upon the set information of the memory 8. At the time of detecting an intruding substance, the detecting part 13 judges whether the area of the intruding substance contacts with the outer frame of the detection area or not. When the intruding substance exists only in the detection area without contacting with the outer frame, the detection of the intruding substance is judged and an alarm device 6 is driven. Consequently the intruding substance can surely be detected without being confused by disturbance such as light, the vibration of a tree inputted from the outside of the detection area. |
