PURPOSE:To obtain a positive resistance temperature coefficient having the low specific resistance at room temperature by bringing the content of chlorine of a barium titanate semiconductor porcelain, which has a positive temperature coefficient of resistance, to 0.01 atomic % or lower. CONSTITUTION:Powder is formed by compounding BaCO3, BaCl2, TiO2, SrCO3, La2O3 and MnO2. The compounded powder is pulverized, mixed, dried up by evaporation and baked. After 5wt.% polyvinyl acetate binder has been added and mixed to the baked powder, they are dried up and formed into a circular molded body by a press molding machine. This molded body is baked in the atmospheric air, and a calcined body is formed. An electrode is formed on both main surfaces of the baked body by applying an In-Ga alloy. As a result, the specific resistance at room temperature can be reduced sharply without deterioration of the temperature coefficient of resistance, and the adaptability for a small-sized large-current element can be accomlished. |
