DETECTING METHOD OF POSITION OF SHIELD EXCAVATOR

PURPOSE:To enable execution of measurement with an optical range finder left installed and thereby to attain an improvement in the precision of excavation and manpower-saving in a measuring operation. CONSTITUTION:A target prism 3 is suspended from and fixed at a point in the upper part of a measured segment 2 in a tunnel. An optical range finder 5 is installed in the upper part inside a shield excavator 1. Moreover, a gyrocompass 10 and a tilt meter 9 are installed at arbotrary points inside the shield excavator 1, and the position of this shield excavator 1 is measured and calculated.
