PURPOSE:To enable analysis at practical speed and further to accurately obtain shape information. CONSTITUTION:A binarizing threshold value is set from the luminance histogram of a source image as a multi-level image and based on this threshold value, the source image is transformed to the binary image of 1 (white) and 0 (black). Next, the edge of this binary image is extracted, the source image is differentiated in a candidate area along the edge, and a point having the biggest luminance change is traced as a boundary. |
