A device for measuring internal stresses in electrolytic coatings, characterized in that it consists of a cuboid vessel (1) with electrolyte, in which are situated an anode (2), a grip (3) for fastening a strip (4) of metal foil, and a hair (5) made of insulating material and resistant to the chemical action of the constituents of the bath fastened to the other end of the strip (4) and passing through a directing element (6) which is fastened at the bottom of the vessel (1) and changes the angle of the hair (5) by approximately 90 degrees, the other end being attached to a device measuring the tension of the hair (5), in particular a torsion balance which is constantly equilibrated manually or automatically.<IMAGE>
