A method of producing a signal for automatic regulation of the quantity of water fed to a once-through boiler with a cyclonic vertical steam separator, involving the use of a signal of the water level at the wall of the steam separator, a signal of the quantity of steam collected and a signal of the quantity of feed water, to form a regulating signal, this signal being applied to a final control device controlling the output of the feed pumps, characterized in that an additional signal (K) is introduced to adjust the signal (Hw) of the water level at the wall of the steam separator, this additional signal (K) being formed as a function of the rotation speed (W) of the water emerging from the separator.<IMAGE>
