摘要 PURPOSE:To enhance the critical characteristic of a vehicle upon cornering, by enabling the steering ratio of rear wheels to be changed when a vehicle speed detected by a vehicle speed sensor and a lateral acceleration detected by a lateral acceleration sensor exceed set values, respectively. CONSTITUTION:When a controller 23 determines that a vehicle speed and a lateral acceleration exceed predetermined values, pistons 16b in a same/reverse changeover unit 16 are moved inwards by actuators, respectively, to communicate right and left cylinders in a front cylinder 7 with right and left chambers in a rear cylinder 15, respectively. When a steering wheel is operated in this condition so that the volume of the left chamber of the cylinder 7 is decreased, oil discharged therefrom flows into the left chamber of the rear cylinder 15b to move a piston 15b rightward. Accordingly, as the steering angle is increased, rear wheels reduce their steering angle to enhance the critical angle characteristic upon cornering, to improve the running stability.
