PURPOSE:To improve the orientability of powder because of uniform direction of domains and to obtain a magnet having high magnetic characteristics. CONSTITUTION:An alloy for a rare earth metal magnet consisting essentially of a rare earth metal and Co, e.g. in the form of an ingot or a rapidly cooled thin strip is subjected to hot plastic deformation. By this deformation, mechanical orientation is rendered and an alloy having directional properties, e.g. >=2 ratio in X-ray intensity between (002) and (110) directions is obtd. |
