PURPOSE:To dispense with the labor to extract the picking piece of a small roll by vertically and laterally movably providing a pressing roll lowered to press a mandrel after the end of the split base paper is wound and slid in the axial direction after it is lowered above a winding device. CONSTITUTION:Two receiving rolls 13, 13, a pair of the right and left arms 15 held by a support shaft 14 slidable in the axial direction, and a pressing roll 16 suspended between their tips are provided on a hoisting device 12 with a winding device 30. A mandrel 27 is dropped between both receiving rolls 13, 13 while the traveling of the base paper A is stopped, the base paper A is fed, then air is sprayed from the first nozzle 25 of the winding device 30, the end of the split base paper A' is reversed backward from the upward, and the end of the split base paper A' is bent downward by the spray of air from the second nozzle 26. The end of the split base paper A' is pressed to the upper periphery of the mandrel 27 by the lowered pressing roll 16, and a feeding device 2, both receiving rolls 13, 13 and the pressing roll 16 are driven to hoist the split base paper A'. |
