An access way (11) connects to a machine station (1) with a turbine (3) to which water is fed from a magazine (4) via an input tunnel. From the turbine the water is conducted to a recipient via an outlet tunnel (9) to which is connected a surge gallery (13) in which the water in the tunnel can rise to a level (15) which normally coincides with the water level in the recipient. - The surge gallery compensates for irregularities in water flow in conjunction with non-stationary flow conditions. In the surge gallery, in the area of normal water level or above, are a number of obstacle-forming elements (19) which counteract the free movement of both rising and sinking water mass, dividing the sinking water mass into a number of part flows, the sinking movement of which is retarded in relation to the sinking movement of the main water mass. |
