PURPOSE:To avoid photographing in a state 'top is cut' by applying the function of a wide range-finding. CONSTITUTION:A controller 40 judges which side of the camera looks upward when the camera is set from the ON/OFF condition of a camera attitude detecting switch 21, in other words, judges which area on a film corresponds to the upper part of a photographic image plane. And an infrared light emitting element 20a to perform range-finding of the upper part is selected by making use of a light emitting element selecting table 40a. And a range-finding system 20 is commanded to emit a range-finding beam from the infrared light emitting element 20a for center part range-finding and the infrared light emitting element 20a for upper part range-finding selected, and the range-finding results (object distance) of the center part and the upper part obtained are compared. And when the object distance of the upper part is longer than the object distance of the center part, releasing is permitted because the picture is not judged to be in a state 'top is cut', and when the object distance of the upper part is not longer than the object distance of the center part, it is judged to be in a state 'top is cut', so that a light emitting diode 15 for warning warns it. |
