PURPOSE:To get a secondary battery high in cycle performance and excellent in preservability by constituting it mainly of a positive pole, a negative pole, and nonaqueous electrolyte, and using a carbon material gotten by carbonizing natural high polymers as the negative pole. CONSTITUTION:As the negative pole 1 of a secondary battery, the carbon material being gotten by carbonizing natural high polymers in the temperature range of 500 deg.C or more and 1000 deg.C or less or the carbon material being gotten by carbonizing it in hot concentrated sulfuric acid is used. These carbon materials are made to be 10Angstrom or less in the thickness of a crystal by X-ray diffraction. Hereby, it becomes the one which is great in energy density, high in cycle performance, and excellent in preservation property and in which the charge/ discharge efficiency is 100% and the toxicity is utterly zero. |
