PURPOSE:To maintain stability of picture quality by reducing a warm-up time of the picture reader. CONSTITUTION:The relation between a tube wall temperature of a fluorescent light and a luminous quantity of the picture reader employing a fluorescent light for a light source and correcting each color based on a reflected luminous quantity from a reference white board prior to original scanning is stored in a RAM 21 and is provided with an AGC circuit 22 controlling a gain of a color sensor 8 in response to a temperature detected by a temperature sensor 20. Or the tube current of the fluorescent light is controlled in response to the temperature detected by the temperature sensor 20 so that the luminous quantity of the fluorescent light is constant. |
