A shower system comprises a shower head (104) having a handle (102) and a rotary cap (108). An annular groove (105) is provided between the head and the cap. A hair rinse attachment (118) has an annular collar (122) into which longitudinal slits (160) have been cut to form flexible fingers (162). The fingers on the inner surface define an interrupted rib (164) which is arranged to snap into the groove (105) when the collar (122) is offered up to the cap (108). The mating surfaces of the collar and cap are tapered. A variety of different attachments having similar collars can be secured to the shower head (104). A separate handle having the same external configuration as the cap (108) can be used to support the attachments instead of the shower head.
