A meter connecting plug clamp (3) for an electricity meter (1) with fixed contact pins has contact pieces to which are connected the meter connecting cables and the electricity meter plug pins. The electrical plug connection of the meter connecting plug with the connecting block (1A) of the electricity meter is secured against displacement by a shape-locking retaining device. The retaining device is a slot (2A) engaged by a latch (3B). USE/ADVANTAGE - The plug clamp is mechanically secured to the electricity meter and the connection released only when the lead-sealed meter cover is removed.
