The present invention provides a hologram lighting system (1) comprising a support structure (2) provided with hologram mounting means (3) for mounting a hologram (4); an illumination means (5) providing a source of light with a small cross-sectional area; and a reflection collimator holographic optical element (8). The illumination means (5) and said optical element (8) are mounted on the support structure (2) relative to the hologram mounting means (3) so that a divergent beam (16) of light emanating from the light source (5) is reflected, as a collimated beam (17) of light onto the hologram (4) for illumination thereof thereby to reproduce a three dimensional image recorded in said hologram. |
