PURPOSE:To surely correct a horizontal width fluctuation with high accuracy generated as a bad effect of high voltage stabilization of a high voltage stabilizing circuit. CONSTITUTION:A resistor 21 is provided in series with a horizontal deflection yoke 4 and a sawtooth wave voltage proportional to a horizontal deflection current generated across the resistor 21 is converted into a negative DC voltage by a negative polarity detection circuit 13 to control a current flowing to a control winding 22 of a horizontal width correction element 6 thereby varying the inductance of the coil connecting to the horizontal deflection yoke 4 resulting in keeping the horizontal deflection current flowing to the horizontal deflection yoke 4 constant.
