Apparatus and method for emulating a graphic product formed of an image created on a substrate (30) wherein the substrate (30) generally affects the look of the image (32) is described. The apparatus includes apparatus for providing the image (32), apparatus for providing an emulated version of the substrate (36) and emulation apparatus, utilizing the emulated version of the substrate, for emulating cooperation of the substrate (30) and the image (32) thereby to produce an emulated version (32) of the graphic product. There is also described apparatus and method for emulating cooperation of a substrate (30) and a selected artistic tool (14). The apparatus includes apparatus for enabling at least one feature of the substrate (30) to be characterized and apparatus, utilizing the at least one feature, for emulating the interaction of the substrate with the selected artistic tool (14). |
