To the smoothly trimmed cable end (10) a contact element (15) is applied so that its outer sleeve (16) slides over the insulation (14) of the outer conductor (13), and its inner sleeve (17) is gripped between the latter and the insulation (12) of the inner conductor (11). The central pin (23) of the contact element rests between the inner conductor (11) and its insulation (12). The cable end is immobilised with its centre pin (22) in a clamp, and its outer sleeve (16) in a spring clip. ADVANTAGE - Cable end prepn. is simplified considerably and its connection to socket is less complex.
