<p>Labels (10) and a label web (1) without a carrier web which labels (10) are formed by perforating a web (1) with a perforator having 20-120 spaced teeth per inch and which provide ties securing the label (10) to the web (1) which have a maximum dimension in the direction of the label (10) periphery of 0.007 inch so that when the label (10) is removed from the web (1) the ties are not visible to the naked eye. At least 50 % of the web (1) is peforated along the label (10) periphery to ease removal of the labels (10) from the web (1), but a sufficient number of ties is retained, depending on the strength of the web (1) material and the pulling force required, to retain the labels (10) attached to the web (1) during pulling of the web (1) for further processing.</p> |
