<p>The present invention relates to a method of detonating nonel detonation tubing by generating a spark within the nonel tubing, and to apparatus for practising the said method. In one described embodiment a coaxial cable (14), comprising a core electrode (15) surrounded by an electrically insulating sleeve (16) with the second electrode (17) surrounding the electrically insulating sleeve (16), is inserted into the bore at one end of a length of nonel tubing (23) and an electrical discharge across the ends of the electrodes (15, 17), within the nonel tubing (23) is arranged to generate a spark within the nonel tubing (23) to cause detonation/deflagration of the dusting/coating material of the nonel tubing (23).</p> |
