Pref. the contaminated soil is exposed to a plasma in a closed system, the plasma being either a low temp. or a high temp. plasma at a pressure of 1-1000 Pa or above 1000 Pa. USE/ADVANTAGE - The process is used for decontaminating and opt. disinfecting coarse and fine soils to eliminate chemical cpds. or deleterious micro-organisms. It is environment-friendly, energy-saving, efficient and simple and employs mobile equipment which can be easily transported to the decontamination site.
