Aq. dispersions of 5-50 (pref. 10-40) wt.% solids content are claimed (I), contg. (A) copolymers of monomers with and without perfluoroalkyl gps., (B) 5-50 (pref. 10-45) pts. wt. ester cpds. with at least 12 linear C atoms (w.r.t. 100 pts. wt. A) and (C) dispersants; (A) contain (a) 30-90 wt.% perfluoroalkyl gp.-contg. (meth)acrylate monomers of formula CnF2n+1-X-O-CR1=CH2, (b) 5-35 wt.% monomers of formula CH2=CR4-CO-OR5, (C) 5-50 wt% monomers of formula CH2=CR4-CO-OR6 (c1), CH2=CR4-CO-NHR7 (c2) and/or CH2=CR4-R8 (c3), and 10-50 (pref. 15-45) pts. wt. (w.r.t. 100 pts. wt. copolymer) of a polymeric dispersant derived from (d) 50-100 wt.% unsatd. poly(ethylene oxide-b-propylene oxide) of formula CH2=CR1-COO-(CH2CHMeO)x- (CH2CH2O)y-R3, (e) 0-30 wt.% monomer (a) and (f) 0-30 wt.% monomer (b); n = 4-12, pref. 6-10; R1 = H or Me; X = -(CH2)m-, -O-(CH2)m- or -SO2-NR2-CH2-CHR3- (with m = 1-4; R2 = 1-4C alkyl; R3 = H or Me); R4 = H, Me or F; R5 = 8-22C alkyl; R6 = 1-7C alkyl; R7 = 1-7C alkyl, glycidyl, CH2OH, CH2OMe or CH2OCOMe; R8 = Cl, F, OR1, Ph, -OCOR1 or CN; R9 = H or 1-8C alkyl; x, y = 1-60. USE/ADVANTAGE - (I) are useful as finishing agents for textiles and carpets, esp. carpets, pref. in combination with other fluorine-contg. or fluorine-free dispersions or with organosilicone dispersions (claimed). Use of the above polymeric dispersant enables the prodn. of a finishing agent with low fluorine content, which gives the required oil-repellency/water repellency irrespective of the method of application and with only small amts. of finishing agent.
