PURPOSE: To provide a high-temperature fuel cell having separated small- diameter high-surface area oxide grains serving as nucleus forming portions for a solid electrolyte formed in the succeeding process on the outside surface of an air electrode. CONSTITUTION: This electrochemical battery is constituted of a porous cermet outside electrode 16, a porous lanthanum manganite air electrode 14, and a stabilized zirconia solid oxide electrolyte 15. The surface of the lanthanum manganite air electrode 14 adjacent to the electrolyte 15 contains a porous noncontinuous layer made of sintered grains 30 of a material selected from a group of cerium oxide, praseodymium oxide, and their mixture, and the electrolyte 15 is kept in contact with both lanthanum manganite and the noncontinuous oxide layer. |
