A smaller head (12) is joined to a larger externally-threaded body (18) by a narrow neck (14) through which the bore (24) for a tightening tool of hexagonal cross-section extends down to the body (18). The tightening torque is limited by a circumferential groove (16) at which the head (12) and neck (14) are sheared off when the limit is exceeded. A protrusion (30) from a recess (28) into the bore (24) restricts insertion of the tool. ADVANTAGE - Esp. effective and highly reliable bolt is easily mfd. and its body can be unscrewed after the head has been sheared.
