PURPOSE:To extend the life of the master disk for optical disks and to improve the quality of the optical disks at the time of molding by increasing the surface hardness of the master disk for optical disks. CONSTITUTION:The surface hardness of the master disk for optical disks is increased by simultaneously forming >= 2 kinds (for example, nickel metal molecules 19 and chromium metal molecules 20) of different metals at the time of forming a conductive thin metallic film for production of a plating film in the process for producing the master disk for optical disks, by which the surface of the master disk for optical disks is made resistant to flaw. Since the friction of the surface is thereby lowered, the molten resin on the surface of the master disk for optical disks at the time of molding is provided with an easy tendency to flow and, therefore, the life of the master disk for optical disks is prolonged and the quality of the master disk for optical disks is improved. |
