<p>The invention comprises the use of a colorfast region contiguous to a test reaction zone in an assay for the detection of an analyte in a test sample. The present invention provides an apparatus for use in the assay for the detection of the analyte, which apparatus comprises: a) a non-porous colorfast region integral to the apparatus and immediately adjacent to and/or surrounding a test reaction zone; and b) the test reaction zone on a porous filter containing a capture agent immobilized on or within the entire test zone, which capture agent is capable of interacting with the analyte, wherein a color indicator is used in the assay to detect the interaction of the analyte and capture agent.</p> |
