The circuit has a comparison value setting register (1), a D=A converter (2), a control circuit (3A) an analogue comparator (4), a result register (5) to buffer the result of the comparison, an analogue input (6), a register to store the required value (7), a comparator (8) generating interrupt request signal (9). The digitised value of the set register (1) is compared with an input (6) which, if greater, results in a `1' that is stored in the result register. If a `1' is already in the required value register (7) the output comparator (8) generates an interrupt. The comparison process is continuous until this condition is obtained.
