The machine table (1) has straight sharp guide edges (9). These extend in direction of advance in a plane parallel to the bench surface. The solid timber workpiece (12) is pressed against the guide edges by motor-driven spring drive rollers, for automatic edging. The device to carry out the method, consists of a grate (3), fastened on the machine bench. The longitudinal bars (4) of the grate have guide edges, projecting upwards over the contact surface. Flat hardened guide rails (7) are fastened to the longtiduinal bars, with top edges formed as blades. USE/ADVANTAGE - Quick and precise edging cut using little physical force.
