PURPOSE:To realize an analog optical transmitter without distortion and to suppress the effect of a long term secular change by correcting a distortion component caused at the modulation of a semiconductor laser by means of an analog signal. CONSTITUTION:A transmission laser is subject to intensity modulation by an analog signal and a modulated laser beam is sent to an optical fiber 3. The transmitter is provided with a distortion correction circuit 7 generating a distortion correction signal and with a 2nd laser sending a distortion correction laser beam subject to intensity modulation by the distortion correction signal. A distortion component included in the modulated laser beam is canceled by coupling the distortion correction laser beam with the optical fiber 3 through a distortion correction fiber coupler 5. |
