For use with swimming pools a part of water is removed from the pool through known methods via a tube and filtered, treated with a disinfectant containing halogens, put through any pH adjustment and warming, and returned to the pool. Trihalomethanes and other volatile compounds are removed through stripping of the water taken from the pool with air in counter-flow.
