PURPOSE:To find out quickly deterioration in picture quality caused by externally incoming noise or the like during transmission or deterioration in the transmission characteristic by devising the system such that a state of a video image reached to a subscriber is directly observed at a center. CONSTITUTION:A return device 4 is connected in the vicinity of a termination of a CATV line network 2. The return device 4 receives a television signal sent via a CATV line network (outgoing line) and generates a still picture signal based on the television signal. Moreover, the return device 4 returns the generated still picture signal to the center device 1 via a CATV line network (incoming line). The center equipment 1 receives the still picture signal returned by a monitor 1a and displays a still picture corresponding to the still picture signal onto a monitor. |
