<p>An invalid chair comprises a flexible padded seat (18) formed with an opening (24), reinforcing means (62, 62A) located within the seat and at the underside of the seat respectively on either side of the opening, flanges (48) on the underside of the seat, and a removable waste-receiving receptacle (44) sliding in the flanges and extending over the full length of the opening. A detachable flexible padded flap is provided for closing the opening after the receptacle has been removed. The removal and closing of the flap, and the insertion and removal of the receptacle can all be accomplished by the chair occupant without leaving the chair. </p> |
