PURPOSE:To reduce the time required for the reduction and nitriding reaction when a beta-Sialon powder is synthesized by a solid-phase reaction. CONSTITUTION:The mullite powder, silicon oxynitride powder and carbon powder are mixed, reduced and nitrided by the conventional method to synthesize beta-Sialon powder. Since the silicon oxynitride is used, the reaction time is reduced by >=20% as compared with the conventional method. |
