<p>PURPOSE:To safely manufacture the titled steel at low cost by melting iron raw material having an unknown composition for stainless steel in an electric furnace, refining the melt in an AOD furnace to prepare molten steel having the desired composition and temp., and gradually using the steel as starting material for stainless steel by the necessary amount. CONSTITUTION:Iron raw material 1 such as scraps having an unknown composition for stainless steel is charged into arc system electric furnace 2, melted, discharged into ladle 3, and poured into AOD furnace 4, where the composition is adjusted with refining secondary materials 8 charged. About half of the refined molten steel is discharged into ladle 3 and returned to furnace 2 as it is. At this time, iron raw material 1 and secondary materials 8 are added to furnace 2 in an amount corresponding to the residual half, after melting them oxidation-reduction refining is carried out in furnace 4 to prepare stainless steel having the desired composition. The residual half in furnace 4 is similarly returned to furnace 2 at the molten state and similarly treated.</p> |
