摘要 |
PURPOSE:To provide a novel SiC-based sintered body having improved fracture toughness and bending strength. CONSTITUTION:A mixture consisting of 20-70wt.% SiC powder, 10-30wt.% C powder and 20-70wt.% TiB2 powder of <=5mum particle size is molded, the resulting green molded body is brought into contact with liq. or gaseous Si in an atmosphere at the m.p. of Si or above and the C powder is allowed to react with the Si to produce a combined silicon carbide sintered body contg. titanium boride. This sintered body consists of 15-35vol.% TiB2, 5-30vol.% Si and the balance SiC. |
