A tightly wound superconducting coil device is disposed, which comprises a coil winding (4), in which no cooling medium is brought directly into contact with a superconducting wire; a cooling medium vessel (1) enclosing the coil winding (4); and an insulating member (2) disposed between the coil winding (4) and the cooling medium vessel (1); wherein two extremity portions ( 8, 8) of the coil winding (4) have a stability margin greater than the other part (9) thereof.
